Default How would you feel about dating outside of your belief system?

Would you have an issue with being with a partner who disagreed on you when it came to religion, or lack thereof?

Do you consider it more important than your own feelings?

Would you ever suggest that a partner converts if the relationship were to progress into marriage?

Would you ever convert if it were necessary to your partner (or your partner's family) before marriage?

Sorry there's so many personal questions. I'm in a curious mood.

Peace.

Not a problem for me. The guy I am interested in is a Christian. But I have known him for over 20 years and he is not the type to push his beliefs on me.

it depends on the sincerity of their faith or lack of faith.
Faith is really important to me as an individual and I hope that my partner will, if not share that, be able to respect me and my faith. If they are apathetic then its no so bad.... but if i was with, for instance, a fervent Muslim or Atheist then core principles will be opposing and despite idealism and romance .... its going to put hughe pressure on the relationship especially if it leads to having children.

1)Totally fine.

2)No , I wouldn't have an issue.

3)No way

4)No way I wouldn't suggest it , I would consider it as disrespectful, but he'd be welcome if he'd sincerely be willing to do it

5)No way. Not unless that's a religion I'd sincerely have been thinking about converting to.

6)That's ok , no problem at all! I'm often in a curious mood too..

7)Peace.

We would have to agree to disagree, but still respect each others position. As long as there is no converting going on I think I would be ok with it. Then again having compatable morals/faith would be one of the things that would attract me to someone.
