Default Due date seems to be wrong! Things moving too fast!?

Ok so My estimated due date is 3rd of December, But when I went for my 17week check up a few weeks ago I told the midwife that Id felt the baby kick a few times, and she told me it was nothing but my imagination! Thinking she was rite and I was probobly imagining it- i let it go! But now Im 21 weeks and I can Definetly feel it kick, and its not just me my husband can feel it too! But according to the book the doctor gave me and told me to "use like a bible" I shouldnt be feeling flutters or the baby move until now! I have looked this up on the internet too, and it seems to be true.
Also the date theyre saying I got pregnant just doesnt work out as we were going thro a rough patch and didnt have sex.

I am also not being scanned again, unless there is a problem! I had my dating scan at 12 weeks and 1 day, but have been told if i want scanned again i have to switch to hospital care- but the hospital is an hour away!

Any advice?? Im so confused, and this is my 1st child...
Forgot to metion, my belly button isnt out yet, but i do have a larger bump than I should have, and can see the baby kicking!! Ive went up from a size 8 to a 12, and from a bra size 36D to a 36E!!! :s
I never thought to count up to the due date myself to be honest, just took her word for it!!

According to my surgery i am NOT entitiled to another scan wither I want to know the babys sex or not they wont scan me unless they have to! The only way to find out is to pay privatly / switch to hospital care!

I am 17 weeks and due Dec 8th. So you are probley 18 weeks. Your midwife does not seem to be very nice. I would change doctors and go to a place that can answer your questions.
I can feel flutters from my baby already so your not crazy.

I am on my first pregnancy I could feel movements at about 17 weeks. My midwife didn't have a problem with it! Some women believe they can feel it even earlier especially where it is not their first child.

you should get another scan to determine the sex of the baby.. and i do not know what your midwife is smoking but 17 weeks is NOT to early.. I was pregnant with twins and felt movement at like 14 weeks! As far as I know 17 weeks is the normal time to feel the baby move.. I dont know about "seeing" it move but yes, you should be feeling it before 20 weeks. Also an hour away isn't far.. maybe go there just to ease your mind you can always switch back.. but it doesnt sound like your getting the best care..

Also if your farther along your tummy should measure bigger which they should detect.. you can also do this by feeling for the top of your uterus, measure from your pubic bone to the top of your uterus how ever many centimeters you measure equals the number of weeks you are pregnant (ie.. 18cm =18 weeks pregnant) Remember though baby can be in a funny position and it can effect the measurment..

Usually women don't feel their first kicks (in first pregnancy at least) until 20 weeks, there is a chance that earlier you were feeling wind and now you're a little further along it is actually babies movements (this is what i experienced in my first pregnancy) of course you could also be in tune with your body and just happen to have picked up on the movements earlier. In future pregnancies you'd feel the movements even earlier, in my 2nd i felt them at 16 weeks and in this one i felt them at 12.

It is unusual that you wont be given another scan as the genral practice is to offer a 20 week anomaly scan to check developement, i'd get a second opinion on that if i were you.

The dates they've given you could purely be based on your last period which often works out different to actual conception. When i had my pregnancy confirmed this time my dates came up at june 23rd however i know that wasn't possible and it's been moved to july 6th.

well maybe their date is off....You should know better anyway...think about it...when did you have sex? when did you miss your period? when did you find out you were pregnant? Maybe they are off by a couple weeks. Either way you will be fine and later in the pregnancy you will have more check ups....maybe then they will change your due date. However if you feel that somting is really wrong then let them know ASAP...did you tell them that you guys were in a rough patch during the time they assumed pregnancy...also sperm can live like 3 to 5 days so maybe you guys had sex the week b4 and didnt become pregnant until the next week during your "rough patch". Good luck with the pregnancy Im sure you will be fine....did you already determine the sex of the child...because they have to scan you again for that so maybe you can get your questions answered then.

I dont like your midwife *no offense... if you want another ultrasound they should accomodate for you !! I felt my baby moving with my first two pregnancies at about 14 to 16 weeks so you are not imagining it... i am in Canada however so our healthcare is very different...

I would switch to hospital care your midwife sounds like she doesnt have a clue what she is talking about!! You should have another scan at 20 weeks to check that everything is ok regardless of whether you have anything wrong or not!! Have you actually been booked in at the hospital? Also i felt my first baby move at 15 weeks (as far as i can remember) and this one at just under 15 weeks so you are quite right in thinking you felt the baby move it varies from person to person. As for proper kicks and seeing the baby work im pretty sure i saw my first move at around that time. I would suggest changing surgery if you can or call the hospital you are going to give birth at to see what they say about the scan. And as for the baby moving, go with your instinct. If you think your dates are wrong another scan will show up if that is the case. Good luck!!

Dec. 3rd cannot be the correct due date if you are 21 weeks.
I am going on 19 weeks and my due date is Nov.27th.
It is very possible to feel the baby move at 17 weeks. I feel my little girl alot. While it is not huge kicks I feel more than flutters.
It sounds like your midwife is not very nice!
I would consider going to the other hospital you were talking about.

Sounds like you need a new midwife. You are not imagining because my baby was fluttering at 15 weeks and each week I felt them stronger and stronger. Now I get full kicks and I am 21 weeks AND my husband can feel them from the outside I even see my tummy move time to time. I'd want another ultrasound to confirm dating because my due date is Nov 5th how is mine almost a whole month earlier than yours?
