just wanted some comments on why people choose to follow fashion. What is it that makes someone think "oo, I want to look like everybody else. I can't bare thinking about it if I'm the only one not wearing the new coat/trousers/top" But then get annoyed when they turn up to a party wearing the same as somebody else?

What is it that makes people want to be the same?
I'm not completely outlandish or anything but I just wear what I want to, I wear boys clothes, I wear very pretty very girly clothes, I wear 'gothish' clothes, I wear skinny jeans and the like, I wear big girly ball gowns and pretty shoes, I wear what my boyfriend and best friends refer to as granny clothes...

Basically, I'm not saying what I do is right and fashion is wrong but I'm just interested in what makes people want to wear what others want them to and not what they themselves feel comfortable in?
Just thought I should say, by granny clothes, I don't mean actual clothes for grannies. But things like wool jumpers and cardigans etc. My bf just says they're granny clothes!

people feel insecure, and don't want to be made fun of for having their own style. they want to be popular, and dress like celebs. but they don't want anyone to think they're a copy-er, who can't pick their own outfits w/o looking at someone else's. but that's how they really are. they want to look cool w/o ppl thinking they're trying too hard. stupid right?

i dont know why people do it. clothes are a great way to show your personality and imagination.
i like to be different and if that means being the only one who is wearing something i couldnt care less.
people get used to it after a while
