i just wanted to find out now because at the moment my 2nd year of college hasnt started and i choose to do textiles for A2 and i wont be able to talk to the teacher until next wednesday so i thought to ask....
is textiles all about making clothes?i want to be a wedding planner or event organiser, advertisor....i can make something relating to advertising maybe a brand etc
does that all come under textiles? as in producing maybe table clothes or curtains or decorations?
i agree with the other answers!
its also to do with fashion and designing, you have to be quite good at drawing and having a good imagination for design ideas is very useful!
and yes it does come under textiles
Textiles in terms of a college course refers to drafting patterns, fabric basics, sewing, etc. It probably won't have anything to with branding or marketing, although every college differs.
Sewing/drafting are extremely useful skills to have, no matter what your career. I would still take the class.
Not at all...it's about embroidery, weaving, dying, knitting, antiques...printing...history...basically everything to do with fabrics.....but foryour purposes I would advise a business studies course and textiles or design.you would learn about the productin of fabrics.
no. its about uniquity and flair. you need original ideas and a good sense of enterpritation. im doing gcse however on my course the teacher seems to think its about doing what she says when she says and thats so not me. i would be interested to hear what you get to do so i can think about it at a higher level.
