Football manager 2008, how do I use Data editor?

Looking to use the data editor on FM 2008 and adjust a transfer budget (its not realistic lol) Anyone know how? On the PC.
Im doing as you guys suggested and saving under a seperate name. Giving myself a cheeky 500 mullion transfer budget but when I start a new game and use my update, the transfer budget is just random and no where near what i put in lol

Right click on Fm 2008 icon - Select Run Data Editor- File :Load Database - It then gives you the option of what Database to load, in your case "Default" double click it and it will load.

Click on "Clubs", and in the filter section type which club you wish it to search for, once its found it double click, for your club go to the "Finances" section there you can change the transfer budget.

Save the new Database, with a new name. You cant over wright the Default Database so don't worry about losing that. Remember when you load the game to play it you need to select your new database.

Once the game has been loaded onto pc, click start, all programmes, sports interactive, football 2008, data editor.

Look for your team, then delete a few players, add the ones you want (free of charge though).

You can set the clubs financial details and give yourself a hefty transfer budget.
