Don't go and download firefox.. Go to java.com and click on "free download java". This should activate it.

My friend had this problem, if your using Internet explorer, well stop. It's garbage to begin with. Go download Firefox. It's free, and a browser that is hella better.

Edit: If you refuse to download firefox, you need a plug-in for your internet explorer, re-installing Java doesn't seem to work. Make sure you have the latest edition of your crappy browser.

Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Medium/High level will do it I think, otherwise you can set it lower, or check out the "custom level" window - Java settings are toward the end.

Firefox

Tools -> Options -> Content -> Enable Java

May be the browser uses noscript (GREAT program - must have) - look for an "S" in the browser status bar, lower right. Click it, and go from there.
