I have got a 60GB Ps3 that is connected to the internet wirelessly. I bought a bluetooth headset (wireless) that can supposedely connect to your ps3 and allow you to talk on online games, chats etc.
I connected the headset up and registered it with the Ps3(my wireless internet connection was not active at this point) and it all worked fine. I did a test to check the thing works (still offline) and it did. I started my internet connection up and loaded up Call Of Duty 4. I went to multiplayer, and tried to talk. Nothing happens. I looked at the headset and the power light indicated that it was still on. When I disconnected the wireless again and did another offline test, I discovered it didn't work.
I took it back to the shop and got a replacement. The Same thing happened exactely with this one.

I am not all that good with computers but I wondered: could the wireless connection have scrambled the bluetooth? or something like that.

Any help would be appreciated greatly.

I doubt the bluetooth is "scrambled" -- more then likely the PS3 can't connect to more then 1 wireless device at a time. It would have to have 2 radios built into it.. a bluetooth receiver and a wifi receiver -- I don't think they have 2 radios.

So it is either Wireless internet OR Bluetooth.. not both.

Try wiping out the wireless internet settings and reconnecting the bluetooth and see if that works again.. if so, then it can only be connected to 1 wireless device at a time.

In this case.. run some cable to physically connect the PS3 to the internet connection and thus freeing up the Wireless radio for bluetooth.
