How can I get to the new text button on my motorola l6?

On my L6 there should be a new text message option in the message centre but I only have 3 options (inbox, templates and browser msgs). How can I send a new test message?
There are also settings missing in other menus.

If you haven't altered any settings, by pressing the left button, that should take you to writing a new message. But that is strange that some things are missing from your menu. Bring your phone back to where you got it from, and tell them your problem, and they should be able to send it off to get it fixed. But I'd say, you are better off buying a new phone. If you like Motorola, then the Motorola K1, is very similar to L6, but it knows more. And it is very cheap, as that's an older model of Motorola as well.
