Motorola L7 Red - sd micro card problem?

I know one of you clever peeps on here will know something about this - bought my mum a red motorola L7 phone. It's got a memory slot in the side that takes a micro sd card. Ok, so got the card, put it in the slot, went to the phone set up like the manual told me - format card. Phone comes up 'unable to format - try again?' ok, try again 'unable to format - try again?' etc etc etc you get the picture!
Taken the card back, got another one. Phone has same problem.

Is it something I'm doing wrong? Or is the phone going back to the Carphone Warehouse with a snotty complaint, now I've programmed all her numbers and contacts in it?!

Check what is the maximum size card the phone can take. Just about every electronic device has a limit to its maximum size memory card it can take, the only thing I can suggest is buy a smaller one im afraid. Oh, just found it... it says on this site a maximum of 1gb, so if you are trying any larger im afraid it wont work. If your not, id go back with your snotty complaint. You say you've programmed all her numbers in, but if you save the numbers to that sim card (if it pay as you go) or if not get an old sim card (it will probably need to be on the same network, and copy the numbers to that, then you can use them on the new phone.
