Default Why is Britan Harbouring corrupt criminal politicians and wanted criminals from

other countires? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/7553028.stm

The link above is the latest currupt politician who used his peoples money to gain personal financial assests for himself. He is wanted in Thialand for useing public money in his own bussiness, i mean large amounts, then there is Boris Beroszky who fled to uk and was given permission to stay in uk.He is wanted in Russia since 1994 for setting up fake life pension schemes in Russia and then taking the money and fleeing the country. Millions of pensioners lost everything in the scam, thousands of pensioners had thier homes taken away and were left to sleep on the streets and died of the extreme cold. He was hopeing that after he fled some sort of revolution would take place in Russia so the then president Boris yeltsin would be toppled and Chaos and mayhem would take place in russia.Russia was just picking it self up after the collapse of the Soviet Union then. Then theres the chechen commander who is also wanted by the RUssians for murders and bombings in Russia and Chechenya, and yet He is a terrorist in many peoples eyes and yet the u.k gave him assylum to stay in the uk. So is the U.k a hypocitical country.

Yes and these criminals have "free movement" to come here from all over the EU too. All the rapists, murderers, paedophiles, drug dealers and other assorted scum from any EU country are free to come into this one and put our people at risk.

They are even free to take jobs working with vulnerable people (not always possible to do accurate background checks on them, first).

Nice, eh?

This is more a comment than an attempt at an answer - I'm not looking for 'best answer' points.

'Harbouring' is an emotive term. Unless there is a legitimate request for extradition by a legitimate government administration in the appropriate legitimate state nothing can be (or, I would argue, should be) done.

As long as there are nation states "international law" is going to be a matter for debate rather than practical jurisprudence.
