Default Firefox not working?

It has nothing to do with the firewall settings, as I've done everything possible to them, but I still get the message

Unable to connect

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I don't know what to do. Can someone help me?
Yes, I'm connected to IE currently

Wasn't sure if it was same computer Try running firefox in safemode a setting might have gotten skewed. Also i would still double check that in your firewall exceptions firefox is check marked. could always try and reinstall it

yea, i had the same problem once, try:
1)if your broardband/modem has been accidently knoked out a bit then push it in to make sure
2)try uninstalling firefox and then reinstall it
3)it may be because you have more than one computer using your broadband/modem so turn them off
4)finally, if Utorrent [or any other type of torrent programe] is running then depending on what is downloading can effect your firefox speed

hope that this is usefull

3 things i would suggest

1: Try seeing if you can get online with Internet Explorer, if not then you know its not firefox, if u can get online then its firefox, i would then uninstall it, download the latest version and then install that.

2: Unplug your router/network box and leave it off for 30seconds or so. This will just reset it.

3: restart your pc and then try it.
