Email not sending after uninstalling Norton smtp mail server error 10060?

hi any advise please i have just uninstalled Norton antivirus and internet security this came with my comp free for 3 months, trials run out so i have uninstalled it, now i cant send or receive e mails im using Incredimail as my default but its telling me it can not connect to the server, smtp mail server error 10060 but the internet is working fine, any advise please... thanks
no i'm not using gmail my server is Virgin media.

If it has just happened in the past few hours and you are using gmail, they have had a problem which has been fixed in the past 20 minutes.
