cant install software from discs

I reinstalled windows on the 25 july and everything went ok, back up files restored to my computer ok. I reinstalled my printer software,office 2007 and roxio easymedia creator 8 back on to my computer all on cd's. But now every time i try to install something from a disc my computer freezes and i have to hold the power button on the base unit pressed in for about 10 seconds to turn the computer off. This happens with anything i try to install, but if i put a dvd or music cd
in the drive they play ok so i dont think the problem is the dvd/cd drive its self. Is it possible for windows installer to get corrupt or could the problem be something else.

sounds like your software are missing for installation.maybe try manually the file you where installing.You not got a setup wizard?
