Why is Firefox so slow???

I've got Firefox 3.0.1 on Ubuntu 8.04, and it's very slow. I've configured the iptables firewall and now my connection is really bad. Do I have to modify anything in Mozilla ("about:config")? Thank you very much for your help

Hey, dude. I'm sorry for your problem. I had the same thing. firefox is slow because of the cookie files (things that are temporaliy stored on your computer via websites) affecting the perfomance.

To solve this problem i reccomend you get opera (free.) It's reportedly the fastest browser. It's never slowed me down. The site is in the source. Try it, I'm here to help accurately.
