Why does norton say "An error has occurred during activation." ?

I have just installed norton 360, have the product key for it as well...But whenever i try to finish the installation it comes up with an error message. I think it may have something to do with this virus i have on my laptop as i couldn't update AVG, sign into msn or use firefox.

Have you fully removed your other Anti virus programme, your new programme will not work if you have another anti virus installed.

Download the free version of Superantispyware. Finds viruses and spyware without any conflict to your own antivirus. Update and run and in depth scan. Free you must update daily on a manual basis, or purchase and get auto. updates.

If AVG that you have installed is and antivirus and not antispyware you have to remove because you can only have one antivirus software in your system or you will have serious conflict. You can have four or even five antispyware without conflict, just have the resoruces to run.

Will not comment on Nortons, or then you are going to find the program a hugh resource hog that will eat up all of your CPU and RAM.

it may be your firewall.
try~close firewall then install norton.
have you any other norton/symtec products on your PC?
you can normally only run one norton/symtec product at a time.
you may also try ~uninstall >norton and other security systems~install norton ,then re-install other systems.

Norton ARGHHHH it's the biggest load of rubbish you could put on a computer , use AVG free its 100 times better

why is AVG still installed???
remove AVG if u are gonna install Norton 360
and try again...if it doesnt work contact norton support

Norton 360, is a complete protection tool (hence the name 360).
Remove all protection (including Antivirus, anti-spyware programs etc)
EDIT: Yeah but it looks like he has bought it, so no point getting rid of it now JIGS lol
