It will tell you all the specs of the memory you need, how many free memory slots you have and recommend memory upgrades.

processor speed does not indicate the maximum amount of memory you can put in a system. The system board does that.

First find out how much memory your system board can handle. You can find this out online or in the user manual for the system board.

Then make sure you replace your memory with the right kind. There are many makes and types of memory on the market now a days... be sure you get the right stuff. It's important.

If you have 2 slots you have enough room for 2 memory modules. Whatever your maximum amount for the board is, you can put either one maxed out in the single slot, or split the difference and put one in each one.

Memory is not expensive, as I read another answer mention, so if I were you, I'd go for broke and maximize my memory.

Just be aware that it is better to take your current memory module with you to the store to ensure you are getting the right stuff in replacement.
