The guy at PC World said it was equivalent to 'Core 2 Duo' ........but I have my doubts
.....and that's after i asked him WHICH one it was equivalent to! He seemed pretty clued up so he must have been lying
An Intel Core 2 Duo is a dual core processor made by Intel.
An AMD x2 processor is a dual core processor made by AMD.
They're both dual core, it just depends on how fast the processors are in comparison as to whether you should buy an AMD or Intel.
In the beginning, Intel used to be the one to go to. After a while, the performance of AMD superseded that of Intel. Nowadays, they're more or less equal.
AMD Athlons are awful compared to Intel Core 2 Duos. Intel Core 2 Duo has more L2 cache, higher clock speed and usually more FSB. Not to mention that the C2D has less power consumption and overheats less.
Athlon is made by AMD.
Core 2 Duo is made by Intel.
