I was wondering if anybody could point out how to network a Vista Laptop to a XP Desktop PC? I've tried and don't seem to be getting anywhere. I've looked around to see any common mistakes but everything seems to be ok (both have the same name etc.) Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
If you are using wireless then make sure that both are connected to the router and then go into control panel - network connections - set up network wizard.
If you are using a cable do the same but make sure the cable is plugged into both computers first.
You also need to create the same workgroup name and a different computer name - this is in the network setup wizard.
