My laptop has trouble searching for my wireless router!!?

I am using Windows XP. I have recently installed a Belkin Wireless router for wireless internet connection. I have a second computer, a Windows Vista, and after installing a USB Network adapter, it can connect to the web via the router.

But however, my Toshiba laptop, which is also a Vista, cannot search my wireless router!! My routers ID is not coming up, it can't be searched!! What is the problem?? Desperately need an answer, hope it's not too big a problem!! Many thanks.

i had the same problem with mine and i have toshiba too.im with sky for my broadband and it was the key word that i needed and the one they origionally gave me was wrong .

i have had the same problem many times, change the routers channel number, that should do the trick..

so go into the router settings and you should find a channel setting from 1-12 and change the number to a different number.

trust me it worked for me when my laptop couldnt find a connection
