What would i need to host a bidding site online, like eBay.

But obviously not as big but same concept.
Any idea's ?

PS: this is just an experiment im trying, i dont actually plan to compete with anyone. So no lessons please on how noone can compete with eBay, im already more than aware about this seeing as ive been an eBay customer for 4 years now.
