well, its not all in london, for example the football will be held in glasgow and the sailing in weymouth.

manchester had the 2002 common wealth games, the last time london held such an event was quite a while ago and we are talking 50 years since we held the olympics here, so dont act like we get everything.

Manchester had 2 previous failed bids due to its lack of international image. I read somewhere that the IOC members insisted that for England to host the 2012 Olympics, it has to be London to have a chance of beating Paris. The advise was good.
